I worked on some layouts this weekend to try to catch up, that didn't quite work out because I am not feeling so good recently. I hope I will not come down with the flue.. Happened to me last year around this time of year as well.

I am running a little behind in my Journaling pages, you might have noticed that ;)

However, I am taking a break this weekend from all things Chrismassy in order to try to catch up. Notice the word TRY. Today I finished day 4 wish was about christmas dreams. I am hoping for a white christmas, but it certainly doesn't look like it will happen. It's now the 16th and this morning we had some wet snow which only stayed a few hours in the garden and than again the rain whiped it all away again. However for even a brief moment it was lovely sight.

This time the subject was Christmas Cards. Some years now I have been handcrafting my cards. I like it and think it gives something special. I already bought some paper earlier this year, but never came around to start it. Until now, when it's only 3 weeks or so before christmas. So I decided to make som digi cards this year. I printed them out this weekend. I have searched for printing matt, but without luck. So I am printing glossy/shiny now. I think can collect them some days later. I am really curious how they will turn out.

The second day was about the weather; until now there is no snow, in fact it really looks a lot like autumn, with rain and wind. It doesn't feel like the season at all.

I read the new forcast, after the second half of december it looks like it will be a lot colder and there will be snow and freezing. We will wait and see...

I have started not one christmas project but 2! And that in one of the busiest times of the year. But I am looking forward to it and hoping I can keep up. I wanted to take shimelles class already last year, but instead did a december daily with Ali Edwards as inspiration. This year I entered the class.

I am already a bit behind :) but I know most work will be done in the weekend, so expect layouts on those days.

I bought Kitscy Christmas by Jenn Barrette & a Month to be Merry by Lauren Grier & Holly Berry font by Darcy Baldwin available at Sweet Shoppe Designs. These kits are not the style I usually scrap with but I love the items in the 2 kits, so I am challenging myself to use them and without templatest to step out of my comfort zone as well.

Day 1 is about Christmas Manifesto. I used Shimelle's text and added some words of my own.

* Golden days of autumn *

It was high time I used once more one of my favorite autumn kits I have bought over at SSD. This one is Autumn Essence from Julie Billingsley. I love the patterned papers and the great colors. They fit so well with my photos of the woods.

Today it wasn't so sunny as the last few days, but still it was 17 degrees! unbelievable for this time of year. While on the other hand I just read a piece on the internet that in Holland we are facing a very extreme winter. And winter will arrive here half way november! The last few years we have somewhat of a winter. But I don't recall such winters in general. It will be tough going to work on the bike again....

I picked up this book from the library today. It's from a Dutch writer, I am a fan of her thriller novels and can hardly wait to start reading. But first I am off to do some household chores - sigh.

* Happy Halloween *

Today I made a small decoration in the garden for Halloween. I am not too pleased with the photo's on some of them I also got the nasty lens flare because it was a sunny autumn day today (in general very enjoyable :) We have very warm weather over here, in fact it's 15 to 17 degrees which is too hot for this time of year)
But when scrapped I am quite please with the end result, even when the photo's cannot meet my standards. I used a template from Yin Designs, stitches are from Traci Reed and the kit is from Dani Mogstad: That old black magic. (great kit! I am sure I will use it again and again.)
One more day and than it's weekend again. Looking forward to that.

Already another Christmas Layout for Project Life. This time I used Jenn Barrette's kit Counting down to christmas bought last year. I liked how the green in this kit matched perferctly to my photo's.Although I used some red for some interest & contrast.

* Scrapping plans for 2012 *

This year my biggest Scrapproject is Project Life. It has consumed me wholey (it that a word?) and completely. I wanted to do more projects and even though they have started, they are still on my hard disk waiting to be finished. Project Life is a great project to undertake, but it has given me a lot of stress and headaches as well. I know that this is partly because I am a perfectionist who doesn't what to use the same kind of photo's each time, and it kept me stressing on what to shoot because of that, for every-single-day! I am happy to say, I am still keeping up for the weekly pages, except for some extra pages of summer I am still hoping to finish. I am also too stubborn to quite, specially since it's only 10 more weeks to the final week of 2011.
You might be guessing already that this project will never be on my to do list again. NOT-EVER!
That is not in this form. Last year I made an album 2 pages for each month so 1 spread a month and that is something I might be doing for next year. But that got me thinking about projects I love to do for next year.
so this is my list of scrapprojects for 2012:

Scrapproject, see the shabbyprinces blog for this idea as well. Every month I have been faithfully downloading the templates. I am planning to use these for next years project life 12 months.
Learn Something New Every Day. This year I still have to finish. I am planning to make an album for next year again. Go check out Shimelles site (also for more great classes)
Just as I want to do for this year, I want to do a December Daily for next year. Inspiration can be found at Ali Edwards blog here (Maybe I will take Shimelle's course Journal your Christmas than, I am not sure yet.)
I also want to see if I can do another Week in the Life projects (See also ali's site) I am almost up to finishing the one of this year (4 months after documenting the week the album will be ready YEAH!)
I plan to do a Log your memory album as well. I first read about it at Leontine's blog. More info's can be found here. I bougth the digi album for this year, but guess it will work for next year as well.
I also want to do a monthy page about the faves I have in that moment of my life. It's a great idea from Nettio Designs. I think I will put this in the project life 12 months album.
One more thing: I want to make an album with my favorite recipes.

Guess these will keep me busy for the year to come :)

An stunningly beautiful kit is on sale today at Sweet Shoppe Designs. Candy Cane Kisses by Melissa Bennet. I didn't buy much since I am trying to keep my budget but this is the first Christmas kit of this year and it's already released in October! But I loved it and wanted to use it for the christmas decorations I just bought some this week. This layout is on this shopping at Action, which is a budget store in the Netherlands. They have lost of beautiful christmas decorations for much lower prices, so that's great. (In fact I also bought some new candles, some sweets and some cleaning stuff. I had a bag full of items for only 13 euros.)

The template I used is from Yin Designs.

Enjoy the weekend. It will be great weather. Next week half way through it will probably rain again. :(

* Halloween! *

I just love halloween, and am very sad it isn't celebrated in the Netherlands like it is in America. Even though I don't get to dress up, I make a small corner in the garden and decorate it in Halloween style. Did the same last year, and bought some stuff non pumpkin related to give it a more Halloweenish look. Of course I had to go to the store and buy a few things more.

I created a layout for my Project life album for this. For this lo I used Goosebumbs by Shabby Princess and a template from Yin Designs (Don't tell, but I bought some Halloween kits more, even though I will hardly use it, because I don't have much to scrap, but I lost my controle on some occassions.... sigh)

But I plan to do some pumpkin carving and decorating so at least 2 more layouts will be made.

I used today to scrap some more for the LSNED course. I am way behind, but still enjoying it. So trying to keep up.

I used for Day 4, Kristin Cronin Barrow - raindrops keep falling, a template from Cindy Schneider, Darcys font again and date stamp from Traci Reed.

Day 5: 10080 min's kit from Traci Reed, Cindy Schneider template, cardboard chunk alpha from Shawna Clingerman, Darcy Balwin's font Tara.

Day 6, will follow later. On to day 7

Today I won a kit from Meghan Mullens, can you believe it? N is for.... Can be used for almost anything, I can also imagine using it for autumn related pages, I love it. Thank you Meghan, I am very happy with it :)
Of course I had to use it immediately. I created day 7 for LSNED with it and love the outcome. Also I used again Darcys font and of course a template from Cindy Schneider. (everything can be bought at SSD)

* LSNED Day 2 & Day 3 *

My internet went down for a couple of days, man am I addicted! It wasn't easy at all, couldn't check mail, couldn't make payments, couldn't search for information I needed. Guess internet made it's way into my life fully and completely.
On the other side, I managed to get a little more scrapping done than usual, as being not distracted in my work by surfing the 'net :)

I managed some layouts for Project life and LSNED, but still need to finish WITL though.
Above is the LSNED layout for day 2. I used a template from Cindy Schneider & a digi kit from Meghan Mullens - Best days of my life & a Darcy Baldwin font (simply love those)

And here is Day 3, again a Cindy Schneider template (couldn't scrap without them any more :) I love those templates, unfortunately there aren't much with only 1 photo which I need for this projectt)
The kit is from Fee Jardin - happy days, bought in the sale recently and of course the same Darcy Baldwin font.

* Learn something new every day *

I have joined another class over at Shimelle.com. I also tried to finish explore, but that didn't work. But I am dertermined to finish this class this time; Learn something new every day. It runs in the whole month september.It's about what you can learn during every day life. It is doable for me, or at least the way I chose to do it.
Every day I write my lesson of that day down. I cannot always make a picture, but I will try to take them in the weekend to fit the subject or I will use an older photograph or if I took a photo that day which fits, I will use it. But it's also fine if I don't have a photo, though that page will be difficult to scrap for me. I never scrap without at least 1 photo!
Anyway, it's day 6 now and until now I am keeping up with the notes, not with the scrapping because that will be done mostly in the weekends when I have time. It is not possible for me to do it daily and to keep up. But that's fine as well.
I know what I have on my plate with all projects running at the same time, makes me wonder why I wanted to take this class anyway :) so it's ok with me, as long as I finish the job.

The first page says; it's very important to spend quality time with family, like making flower decorations with my mom.

She makes them and I just enjoy watching and chatting together :)
For the page I used the great kit of SSD - As summer fades by Melissa Bennet & Julie Billingsley. I am totally in love with it. I will use it for a lot of my autumn layouts this year.

It's been awhile, guess life kept me busy, but here I go again:

Older.
Funny thing because my birthday was just a couple of weeks ago. 33 already. Time flies. But I guess I like being older. I am much comfortable in my own skin than I was 10 or 15 years ago. With time and age come wisdom, they say and that is true. I value myself more than back then.
The other side is, I can also notice at my body I am getting older. I have more grey in my hair (thank god it's not so visable yet, but those days will come as well) I have more wrinkles when I smile now. But those I treasure, because it tells me no matter what happened in my life, I still had fun and it gives strength to face what ever comes your way.
I have gained some pounds and those are there to stay i think because over time I have found it harder to loose some extra gained weight after holidays again.
That's all part of the plan of changing and evolving when time passes. Inside is to treasure, the outside will become of less importance.
But never under estimate a good cleaning routine, a good day and night creme for your age and lots of sleep :)

I finished my first page with the autumn kits just now. I love it :)

I used mostly meghan mullens flavors of fall, some embies from I heart fall. I used a template from Yin Designs which I modified to fit my needed numer of photo's for the layout.

The photo's I took are from today, and it's clearly visable that autumn is starting early this year. For some weeks now I am spotting muchrooms (because of all the rains we have had this summer they are early. Maybe I will take some shots more tomorrow and slightly modify the photo's used, or I will make another page.

Since last week Saturday there is a huge sale over at Sweet Shoppe Designs. Already last week too much disappeared in my shopping cart and again today, I bought 3 (just 3 :) I am proud of my self restrain) more kits from the sale. I was specifically looking for autumn themed kits.

I love autumn, it's my favorite time of the year. I started working on a 20x15 cm album filled with memories of autumn and halloween from 2007, I will post some layouts in a while. But it's fun to use several kits in the album instead of just one. So I searched for some in the sale. Last week I already got me some halloween themed kits. (love it, though in this part of holland, there is hardly anthing going on re. Halloween, sigh)

I found some awesome kits of Meghan Mullens.

Sale: I just love the hint of summer fading into autumn of the 2 above. It's great for photo's from early september & when autumn colors are not so vibrant.

New release from today. I love it, specially the purple, such an amazing kit & the owls are just too cute.

Since yesterday afternoon I started having a terrible soar throat. Had a very bad night of sleep, almost none. Terrible day at work. Losing my voice more and more.

All day drinking tea, water and eating sweets for my throat. Let's see how tomorrow goes, because I am feeling more and more aweful. Think I will come down with the flue or something. Really, couldn't be at a worse moment than now. I have the weekend fully planned with fun stuff....

Just finished the latest layout for project life. It was quite the busy week but I enjoyed it very much :)

I used Sisterhood by Julie Billingsley , date tags are from Penny Springham. Template from Yin designs, but I changed it around to fit for 7 photo's.

Monday back to work. It will be heavy rains and storms again tonight and tomorrow. It is not the average Summer weather we have over here. Today was good, though at 4 and at 8 pm there were heavy rains, just as it did yesterday evening. See how it goes tomorrow.

I made a clean and simple layout of a photo I took today. It was a beautiful warm day (but enough wind to make it nice you know, not too stiffling or hot) and I used a mask and wordart from suddenly Artistic. I really love the outcome.

* Day out: Zwolle *

Yesterday I went to Zwolle. I had never been there and wanted to go to do some shopping and sightseeing. At first I saw only the market and though, is this it? Then I go home right away. But I did some strolling around and saw some nice shops, great old buildings, the remains of the city wall, the Gaper, the church, ships and water. It was a lovely day.

Below a small impression of the almost 200 (!) photo's I took that day. Because I had to travel a long time by train, I didn't bring my Nikon, but only my point and shoot. I am quite pleased with how the photo's turned out. Even in the church with no flash, the results are quite acceptable.

High time for a layout of project life again! i used Traci Reeds kit SPF 45, a template from Yin which I modified, some stick it alpha's from Dary Baldwin, modified to fit the date & Misty Cato Journaling spots. I love the outcome. The papers are cheerful and bright even though there is not much sunshine around these days.

I kept the journaling to myself, since some of it is rather personal.

I am very late with my 5 min friday, it's almost friday again. But I had doubts about posting this story, but decided to post anyway because is very important in my life right now and I want to be able to read it back.

Recently I have been thinking about loss quite a bit, I might want to say I over think it, its in my mind on a daily basis. And there is a reason for that. In my direct surroundings I have been facing death more often than I have ever been used too. When I was about 13 years old my grandad died and that was terrible. I was heartbroken and cried a lot. But after that, I haven't been faced with dead again until now, almost 20 years later. That fact makes me happy because losing someone is terrible & devasting & hard to describe or put in words, so not facing this again is a true blessing.
But it also makes me worry now because my mom is becoming older and even though I want it, she will not live for ever. I will be without close relatives when she is gone. No one to visit, to go over and chat and discuss problems with. It makes me wonder if I made the right choices in my life.
The funny thing is that just they other day, someone told me; never to question or doubt your decisions. If they are not the right ones, just make a new deciscion. It is very true... But sometimes it's hard to let go of the old...

Grateful... I think there is a lot I should be grateful for but in the midst of life, choas, stress, work, daily business and my surroundings you easily forget. I easily forget that I have a lot in my life to be grateful for. Even the simplest basics like a home, food, clothing, a shelter, a mom; it is not natural to everyone but I have it and for that I am grateful.
I have a job, I don't always like it. I can be hectic and stressful and so on, but I do have a steady job and in the world of today that is not something natural, and for that I am grateful.

My heavy headaches and migraines are not so often as in the past, and for that am really grateful. Only when I have a headache/migraine attach I know what it's like that so many days I am feeling good and don't appreciate it enough.
There are many things in life which I wish I could do, but I can't do. But I really should learn to see things differently, there also so many things I can do which are naturally to me and I take them all for granted, but really it is something to be grateful for. Taking walks, riding my bike, go shopping IRL or online, enjoying music, singing, acting silly, photography, photoshopping, blogging. When you look around you and see, really see, there is really so much in my life which I am grateful for.

Last Sunday I went to a summer fest which is a rather big happening here with a big procession.
It was very hot, really the beginning of summer. I took over 500 pictures, below a very small impression of a great day.

Today it's 34 degrees over here. Verrry hot. Don't like it one bit. But there is bad weather coming up with thunderstorm so it should be cooling down tomorrow.

* Week 24 in Project Life *

I just finished week 24 of Project Life and yes I am still keeping up. That is with the weekly pages. I have still 5 more extra week pages on my to do list. I wonder if I ever get around to finishing them up? Who knows. But for now, I am happy that we are almost half year after I started this and I am still carrying my camera around everywhere to take photo's. I don't mind using a picture from the Internet as I did with this page. As long as it concerns something I am reading or watching, or something like that.

Yesterday I found this great side; the gypsy mama. She challenges to write every friday for 5 minutes on a subject she gives to you. I thought that was a great idea to get my writing going again. So I am going to give this a try for some weeks.

This week's subject is Home.

Home is where the heart is. I truly believe in that one liner, and my heart is at home. I am a very homey person. I like spending time at my house, reading, listening to music, watching tv, photography, scrapping, surfing on the internet, photoshopping. There is so much to do (besides the chores and the works :)

It's a great place to hide out, when you are tired of the world. Its warm and comfy and you can be who ever you want to be at that moment in your life. Everybody understands.

My second home was always at my grandma's until she moved to a new home. Even though I was comfortable there, it never felt like the old house, where I have spend so many hours as a child. I can still remember so much about it. I can still see the carpet, red on the stairs. I can still see the velum with the square pattern on the kitchenfloor. The lace rugs on the tabletop. The coffee mill on the wall behind the door ( I loved to grind coffee as a child). The pots with flowers in the window. The couch itchy to the touch. The room I stayed in overnight, with the orange wallpaper. The sounds in the morning of the ships going by, the ships horns, the birds. There is so much to remember & treasure forever.

Today my post is for the simple woman's life daybook; june entry.

Outside my window.. the sky is a little cloudy, with only some sunshine now and then. There is a chill breeze. Just the perfect summer day for me to enjoy.

I am thinking.. that my long lazy holidayz filled with relaxing, reading, sleeping, watching series & DVD's, are almost over.

I am thankful for.. the fact that I found my compact camera back. Couldn't life without it & that I am almost recovered from the stomach flue. It's so good to be eating food again.

I am wearing... my favorite pair of esprit jeans and a great flower blouse from the Sting, with t-shirt otherwise I am too cold.

I am creating... the week in the life album, which is only been scrapped for one day only. The rest I will start tomorrow on because the weatherforecast says it will be raining, and what better to do on a rainy day than to do some scrapwork.

I am reading... the twelfth insight by James Redfield.

I am hearing... the birds.

Around the house... there is a lot to do today. Many chores; handwash, ironing, cleaning, cooking.

Looking forward to... the festival coming weekend. It's always fun to go somewhere and shoot some photo's.

Plans for the rest of the week... Go out to use my new point and shoot a lot. One Major; not getting stressed on the job!! Getting some scrapwork done.

Tuesday came and went and I was too ill to do something on this weeks challenge of Texture Tuesday. Thankfully it's a quick and easy challenge and you can use any image you want. So I used a shot of a rose. Shot on one of my walks with a point and shoot camera.

Yesterday I had the worst stomach flue ever. I have had it in the past but never as worse as it was and is still now. I never could imagine you couldn't go to work. Guess what, Now i can.

It is horrible! Couldn't eat, couldn't drink (that's the worst part) Stomach pains & cramps. Lying in bed all day. Doing nothing.

Well I think/hope that the worst part is over now. I am trying to drink some water. The first 2 sips went totally wrong, but it seems to be doing a bit better now. Currently nibbling on a rusk now. I do hope I can at least do some digi scrapping today or some reading & hoping it will all be over soon :)

Anyway, I am still keeping up with Project life even though I have been struggling at times. I have been a bad blogger with my layouts though. I cannot promise to change that anytime soon, cause I am very busy besides work with all my "side" projects.

However, here is one more extra page I did for last week. It wasn't an easy task to find papers and embies to fit with this page; I ended up using 2 kits of Eva Kipler Little moments & Best day ever & climp me. And some of Kristin Cronin Barrow's Sweet Escape & brushed up text from misty cato, all from Sweet Shoppe Designs.

I started my first digital artpage today.

I have tried to do this in the past with paper and paint and cutting and pasting. But that didn't work for me. Now I found on the internet there is digi artjournaling. Wonderful! I got some stuff from Tangie Baxter and love it. I used it for this page, together with 2 embies from Raspberry Road Designs.

Since this is my first page, I am not completely unhappy with it. I like how the colors turned out. I love the mixing and matching and blending.

Guess I have a new addiction :)

This week the challenge is Gardening over at Texture Tuesday. While my own garden is nothing much to photograph, I was recently at my aunts and took this shot. I love the combination of green, stone and wood. On this photo I used stained linen & Just cause. And adjusted some levels and this is the outcome.

Yep another Tuesday so another challenge at Kim Klassen. This time is the theme Vintage. Now I love that style but I don't have anything Vintage at home to photo graph, so I dug in my photo's and found this one of a teacher and student (living statues)

Another Tuesday came and so is Texture Tuesday over at Kim Klassen Cafe. This week we had to use serendipity, I used it on 2 layers and also paper stained music from Kim. I started out with an action from Coffeeshop Butterscotch vintage. Put it all together, run another coffeeshop action Barista no wait. On top of this I put the previous end result and set the layer to multiply 39%.

It has been a very long time ago since i last posted a layout I did for Project Life. I am still keeping up though at times it's difficult to find something to photograph specially on a daily basis. Guess my life isn't too exiting ;) Sometimes I even find myself thinking that I still need to photograph something and how I want to quit it. Butttt, still going for it, because I think it will be a great album and that seems enough motivation (for this moment) to keep it going.

Thankfully I have had some extra days off because of Easter and I have some spare time to try to do some catching up, because I am running a little behind my weekly Lo's... :(

Firstly I started with last week because that one is reasonably fresh in my memory. I used Irish Princess a collab kit from meghan mullens & cindy schneider plus a little out of Springs a hoot by meghan mullens. Available at Sweet Shoppe Designs. I used a template by Yin.

Day 10 has arrived and I am still keeping up, so I am proud of the results so far. Today was again a beautiful warm and very very sunny day. I was out for a walk and took my D90 along and made quit some photo's, but this one is my favorite. I love the light, the grean and the brightness of this photo. A perfect reflection on how sunny it is today.

This is my day 08. It's a part of a flower arrangement for Easter, but of course I always take total shots, but I also am very fond of the details because I think those pictures are mostly better than the total overview. Well the Easter weekend has started. The weather is very warm and unusual for the time of the year in holland. It's 27 degrees outside!!

Ok, I am back with Day 5 for 30 days of spring photo's. For this one (straight from my point and shoot) I used a texture by Kim Klassen and this is also my entry (first one :) of Texture Tuesday. Had great fun with it. I took this shot during one of my evening walks. It an advantage to have enough light to shoot by hand in the evening after work.

Day 06 (20 april) originally the colors were very bright but I like this muted vintage look of the lovely flowers, used again some textures from Kim Klassen (chamomille & peeling paint)

Day 07 (today) Early risers get nice light. This shot was taken in the morning with my Nikon D70S. I simply love the morning sunrise glow which I intensifed a little. Love it when I can take some photos in the morning already before heading off to work. It's a good way to start a normal working day.

On internet I found a photo challenge, 30 days of spring, read all about it here or click on the linky in the sidebar. And besides all the things I am already doing, I am trying my hand at this. I will try to make a photo for this each day, but posting each will be difficult, also becose I want to work a little on them before posting. I was also a hobby of mine a long time ago, to work on the photo's and seems I am slightly going back to it at the moment ;)

So here are my photo's of the first 3 days.

Here is my Day 01 (15 April). It was a misty morning and because of that combined with the sun, gave some nice shots. This is one is with my point and shoot camera and I love it.

Day 02 (16 april) Some beautiful white blossoms (don't know the name, I only admire their beauty :) ) passed me by today. Again a photo from my point and shoot on Macro stand. (maybe this is even better than DSL for macro's)

Day 03 (17 April). I saw some beautiful grape hyacinths and with the green of the grass and the yellow of the dandelions it really gives that splash of spring colors.

The weekend is over and back to work on monday.

The last few days, that's to say, almost the whole week we had very nice, sunny weather. Very nice because everything starts too bloom and blossom but at the same time it means the hayfever season is upon us. I already am on meds since a few weeks but it's getter worse now :(

Still I am planning to enjoy the outdoors more than I did last year. So today I went out for a walk in the woods and walked also around town to try to capture some of the blooms. I particulary like the one below.

Too bad sunday is almost gone already and back to work on monday. I also still have to finish up my week page of project life. I am behind on this.

It has been ages ago since I last entered the Card Patterns challenges. I really shouldn't wait so long with entering again, I had great fun with this weeks challenge. However project life/P365 is keeping me very busy. Too busy to do find time to do other stuff. But I needed a birthday card and besides that a male birthday card and those I find very difficult. However the sketch helped me a lot. I don't think it's "too male " with the flowers and the color combo, but it's also fairly neutral so I will send it any way. Besides I like the cheerful colors :) Gives me a springy feeling.

I am behind in my project and haven't finished week 7 yet. Here is week 8 though.

I am having a lot of trouble this week to get a daily photo. (I am even considering quitting) It is so difficult for me after 8 weeks to take a photo each day, while working 5 days in the week and having no dogs and or kids to take photos with. My days are filled with daily work and that is only administration work at the PC, so....

This week most days it's the sunrise and sunset. I think I can fill a whole book with only those shots I took so far :)

I am doing my best to keep it up though and hoping that when spring comes I can take more nature shots. I like the work I did so far and the forecast of having a book with photo's of my daily life is great. Specially when looking back at it years from now. So I hope I can continue, but I don't think I will do this ever again....

I am a little behind in posting this layout, sorry but I had no time to finish it up earlier.

As usual I used a template of Yin and this time a great kit from Traci Reed: My love for you. It was nice to use something new now. The tag dates are from Penny Springham.

I have a little difficultcy to make a photo each day this week, so I will do some cheating by using some photo of another day. He, it's allowed in my book, that's why I call it project life and not project 365 :)

Today was lovely wheather so I had my shot at least for today. I took it with my new lense 18-55 VR. I have not tested it yet, just arrived on my doorstep yesterday.

Beautiful isn't it? I must say, since I am doing this, I look around more and I see more and more the beauty of the world around me. There is beauty everywhere.

It has been very very long ago that I entered a cardmaking challenge :( I have been too busy scrapping layouts again (and enjoying the process even when it's digi, I am so into digi scrapping these days.) But I wanted to make some Valentine cards to send. So this is the first one. I used oldie papers (guess everything will be called "oldie" now :) ) from Imaginisce and thought the color combo was just right for Valentine's Day. I used one of my own word arts on this card. The card is based on the Dutch Card Lovers Sketch of this week, which I turned around to fit my design needs.

It was about time that I change the look of my blog. The old hearder and background is almost a year old (OOPSIE!) I took some nice shots for Project Life of a sunset some days ago and I thought it would be a great header in combination of the newly bought Kit of Eva Kipler Forever. I like the lovely colors very much.

I am not feeling too well, even worse than yesterday, so it will be a slow day for me again. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow because I have to go back to work than.

Didn't feel so good this weekend, so took it easy and did some scrapping and watching some TV and yesterday afternoon I watched Eclipse and didn't feel like finishing the layout of week 3. But here it is :) I used a template from Yin Designs and used Winter wishes from Zoe Pearn and Sweet Escape frim Kristin Cronin-Barrow. No matter how much I love these kits, I am looking forward to using different papers for the weeks coming up in February. I think something with a Valentine's theme would be nice. I bought J'Adore from Kristin Cronin-Barrow last Saturday but I also have some other nice kits, so I have not made up my mind yet.

This week I went to work a little later and was able to see a beautiful sunrise. Of course I took some shots (I am so happy with my small camera Canon IXUS80IS, which is so easy to cary around and take quick photo's) and I used them for this layout. Even though it's officially still week 52 of 2010, I have decided to do a layout of 1 and 2 january and use it for the project life 2011. I just loved the photo's too much not to use them :)

I am planning on taking a photo each day. That's my first goal for 2011. However, I am not calling it project 365 but project life. So I am "safe" if I don't succeede in getting a photo a day. (I made a December Daily last month for the first time and it was a daily struggle to get a photo, but I managed and kept up and my album is waiting to be printed, YEAH!!! But doing this the whole year, is quite another challenge. But I am aiming for it so let's see how it goes.
This is my first layout made for this album. I used Zoe Pearn's Winter Wishes, Masks from Eva Kipler and a template of Yin. (I don't remember where I got the digi date stamp from) So keeping my fingers crossed that I will keep up the good work :)

Long time, no blogging. I am very busy with all things christmassy and it's very exhausting with this kind of weather we are having to ride to work and back on my bike. My route is normally taking app. 25 minutes or so, now it takes me over an hour.
Plus I am trying to keep up with December Daily. Until now I only have photo's and notes in my word document, because I didn't have Photoshop elements yet. But I got it this week as an early present from Bol.com and got it installed yesterday. So no more reason to delay.
So I am leaving with a small impression of the Christmas decorations in my home.

Yesterday evening I finished 2 more cards for Christmas. I must really hurry up, because it's almost time to send them and I only have a few. So guess I will be busy this weekend with card making.
First one is for Get Sketchy sketch #66, however, I am too late too post, but I liked it too much not to. Love the lost of bling bling. Again I almost only used materials not bought in official scrap store. Second one is for this weeks sketch over at Card Patterns. It's sketch 92 already! Sadly I have missed a lot of sketches over the last few weeks (months) but life has kept me busy.

The weather is really very cold over here. It's -8 degrees, but due to the strong eastern wind it feels like -15 to -20 degrees!! And there is snow and the road are not kept very clean this time. I fear the roads will be icy tomorrow....

These are yesterdays photo's when I was out in the woods, trying to take shots of the first real frost around here. It was cold and I wore thin gloves so I could keep them on while photography, but still my fingers were half frozen. But ... I like the result.

Today the first snow of the winter fell. It wasn't expected in the area where I live, but still.
It is a beautiful sight, the whole world covered in snow. I hope I can shoot some photo's tomorrow, but at the same time, I don't like it too much because of the traffic chaos and accidents happening.
Thankfully, most of the roads I ride, were either wiped clean, and/or salted. So I was reasonably able to ride the bike. It only took me 15 minutes longer than usual to get home ;)

This is the latest flowerdecoration, again a wreath but this time all in green colors with a candle light holder. One is standing on the salon table and one on the dining table and it really looks great. It always is nice to have flowers in the living room, I think. It gives warmth and a comfy homey feeling.
Just a few more weeks, and than the first christmas decoration will be made. I can hardly wait. With Chrismas coming, I really should do something about the layout of my blog. It has this header since spring I think. Also I have bought so many digi kits around the christmas theme lately, (also for my december daily digi) that I must do something about it. Very soon I promise!

I have to start working on my Christmas Cards now, if I want to finish everything early and on time enough before Christmas. So last evening I made one after the sketch of CardPatterns.
What I love about this card is that all stuff used, doesn't come from official scrapbook stores. The papers & rhinestones come from Kruidvat and were a gift of my mom. The lilac paper is from another store Euroland or something. The ribbon from a Garden Center and the trees from Wibra :)

Well gotta move on and go to work now. It's raining - again.

I needed to created a new card for my nephew who is celebrating his birthday this weekend. So what better opportunity to do a round with my favorite challenge blogs to pick out a sketch to use. I have chosen for sketch #68 of Dutch card lovers for my card. I wanted something fancy and extreme, but that didn't work, so that one ended in the trashbin and my card turned out rather simple. But I think the colors make it spark.
Hope he will like it.
Furthermore, I am trying my hand at a December Daily booklet this year - again. Last year I tried it and made my paper album in advance. And it's still lying around somewhere. Empty! So this time I am doing it digital. I have both 2 digi kits and made 2 pre-layouts already, so I only have to add a photo. Hopefully this will work for my this year.

I have been a very bad blogger lately. Since my last post which is over 5 weeks ago, I haven't made a single card or any other scrap creation for that matter.
Butt.... I took up finally some of my photography again, which also has been practically neglected for the last months this year.

Finally, finally the colors are changing, after weeks of rain and rain it surely didn't look like it would happen. But there it is one splash of color!

The woods are amazing, too bad it's raining again otherwise I would go out for a photographic tour again. Tomorrow it will hopefully be dry, so I can go out again.

I also have to make a Birthday card for my nephew. His birthday is coming up very shortly so I have to move.

Yesterday I was on the site of Karen's Doodles and saw new too cute digi stamps for FALL. And since I *love* fall - its my favorite Season, I couldn't help it, I had to buy this cutie :) This weeks challenge of the dutch site of Karen's Doodles, is anthing goes. So a great opportunity to use the new stamp.
I used a sketch of Dutch Card Lovers, since it has been way too long ago since I played along with their sketches.
I am very proud of the coloring I did on this card, I think it really turned out well. (I really should practise coloring more) I used some old Bo Bunny Kitchen Spice papers to fitt the FALL theme. I also tried a (for me) new technique with stamping a swirly stamp on the orange and white flower, so the colors would be better suitable for FALL.

I needed a card for a wedding day... urgently... So I grapped my fav romantic papers (still Rose Garden from PaperMania, though I am practically running out of enough papers to make a decent card and only have a few very small scraps left)
Thankfully this weeks sketch of Card Patterns was - again great - just what I needed to get inspiration to make this card. It fell together effortlessly and it's already posted also today :)

Over at Kenny K's the new stamps are out and believe me they are awesome. They all revolve around music, as does there challenge of this week. I couldn't help it, I had to buy one of those super duper stamps and use it for the challenge. Besides I love the theme, I am crazy about music, cannot live without it!

This card was created for Dutch Card Lovers, which had a great new sketch this week. It has been far too long ago since I played along with them and I thought it would be a good opportunity to combine the sketch with a great challenge over at the Doodle Diva's blog from Karens Doodles. You get this great freebie and one of the things you have to do is create a card with it. How hard can it be? I love the digi's from Karen and this freebie is no exception. I dug into my stash and found some old Basic Grey - still one of my fav brands even though I don't use it too often these days, might need to change that ;) - and some black cardstock. Sat down my old pc and created some text to go with it. Supplies: white & black cardstock, Basic Grey Ambrosia papers, ribbon, buttons, fiskars borderpunch, Karen Doodle's digi stamp, my own word art.

The next card is for Card Patterns - I always love there sketches. Again this one was a very basic one, but it was just perfect for the birthday card I had to create for my Nephew. Due to the busy patterns & colors, it's great to have a more simple sketch. The digi is from Sliekje. She is a great artist and her stamps are too darn cute. The papers are from provocraft - again some oldies from my stash, I don't remember how the series was called though. Plus I used again my very first bought borderpunch!

Yes again some cards. Seems I really got my mojo back and I have tons of papers still lying around waiting for being used to create something. One of those is a summerline of Imaginisce. I don't remember the name and don't want to go through my stash again, so I will try to find it later on the internet.
Anyway, it's for 2 Challenges. The card is based on the current sketch from card patterns and the challenge from Kenny K, this time the theme is in the SummerTime. Next is again a christmas card and this time I used one of the digi's from Karen's Doodles. It's also for the challenge over at the Dutch Challenge site of Karen's Doodles.

The papers I used are some old MME papers; colorful christmas, which I like because they are bright and cheerful :) Supplies: My Mind's Eye Colorful Christmas papers, snowflake punch, Fiskars borderpunch, jewels, Karens Doodles digi stamp, Colorsoft pencils.

And again I am too late to upload my card based on Get Sketchy's sketch #49... I only finished it last evening and didn't have time to upload until now. ah well, I like my card any way. It's my first attempt at vintage style with printed pictures, and I think it's not too bad. I used the old BG line Wassail. Almost ashamed to say, but can you believe I have it lying here for ages already and have never made a project with it!!! Any way, I like it with the old fashioned pictures of santa and angels. I think there will follow more :)

Last sunday the new challenge at Kenny K's was online. It was again a terrific sketch. Unfortunately I was not able to enter last week even though I bought specially a new digi :). So a good opportunity to use it now. I am proud of the coloring for this one. I think it turned out quite ok. I used for each color 3 different pencils and tried to mix them as best as I could. I still need a lot of practise.... so it was high time to do so again :) I loved this weeks sketch since it's not a pattern I would make normally, so it was a real challenge. But I like the outcome. The card is also for Karens Doodles Dutch challenge site, and the theme is baby card or project. Don't you just love the great digi's from Karen. This girl is just too cute. I found a new challenge site which had a great sketch to work with this week - Paper Play Challenge. So I decided to enter and combine a challenge from Karens Doodles US where the theme is Christmas in July. And if you have a lot of cards to make, better start on time, right?
I have chosen for First Snow digi stamp combined with my own stamp, which will be offered in a next post as freebie. The papers are Eskimo Kisses which is Basic Greys amazing X mas line of last year. I still have some scraps of those, enough to start making some Christmas cards already.

Seems I really got my mojo back, because yesterday I finished 2 more cards. The first one is with a great image from Kenny's. (I love the fact that I can buy stamps now that I've got paypal finally) Don't you love it? The card is based on a sketch of Dutch Card Lovers. Kenny's challenge was to use pastels, so I dug out an old paperblock with lovely summery pastel colored papers Madame Royale. Which I haven't used for quite a while.
Other challenge: Wild orchid Challenge - Flowers Supplies: We R Memory makers Madame Royale papers, lilac cardstock, orange cardstock, white puffy paint, scrappers floss, jewels, McGill Flower punch, EK Succes flower punch, Kenny K digi stamp, my own text.

Unfortunately the tiny squares are hardly visable, because as usual I put to much on the card, but they are there!

Karen has a sale at this moment, so it was a nice opportunity to buy some stamps and get one for free. The challenge was love. And isn't this girly lovely? How she likes the butterflies.

I finished some cards again and I enjoyed crafting again.

The first is for CardPatterns sketch 71 already again. There are some anniversaries coming up, so I started making some cards for that already. I used the romantic papers of Papermania together with a picture of Mo Manning for a fun note. Added some flowers and roses and pearls and it's done.
Supplies: pink cardstock, doily paper, prima marketing E flowers, roses, Crafts too corner punch, digi stamp Mo Manning, my own digistamp, ribbon, Zva Creative pearl swirl.

And I made a fun card with Kenny K stamp. Don't you love it? I am going to buy one or two more. I combined them with the bright colors from My Minds Eye and another digi stamp from TLC. (The card is based on last weeks sketch from DCL, but I was not on time to enter)

I don't have much inspiration lately and it's only on few occassion that I make a card. It's a shame and somehow I miss it, but on the other hand, I like the rest and freedom it gives me. I enjoy reading much more - finished 7 books this month! I cannot remember the last time I did that, it must have been in high school! I listen to music and watch TV. Seems I need to take it slower, just enjoying the here and the now. Not feeling the pressure of "needing to make a new challenge card".
Last weekend I started this card for Get Sketchy and didn't come around to finishing it up, until now. Of course too late for the challenge, but who cares :) ? Again I tried to make a vintage card and even though the stamp isn't really vintage, I think it gives that feeling. I used colored pencils to color the Tiddly Ink image and tried to make the white lace more fitting, by inking it up with distress ink. I distressed all edges.
